[Fashion Post] Gravity Top and GSS Sale

Aren't we all grateful for GSS sale every mid year?! I certainly am. Usually, I would go to town early in the stage or towards the end of GSS because I had no time at all. But this year, somehow, I managed to get my ass there right in the middle of GSS where everything is still full in stock. It was really crowded everywhere.

I managed to snatch few pieces from Zara and have I mentioned that Melissa is on sale? The Karl Lagerfeld x Melissa is now 60% off! *GASP!*

I wore this yesterday to meet my girlfriend for some "short" shopping (which of course extended to a full 7 hours of shopping and eating). The top is from Zara, which I love love love so very muchie. Bought it in Zara Bali (who would have thought to buy anything from Zara Bali right?) and my leather leggings is something I have had for years and still my faveeee! It's from Sass n Bide and I got it at a real good deal during their warehouse sale. Talking about the perks of being in OZ. I really miss those warehouse sale, they always have the best stuffs especially SnB (which is my favourite brand, apart from Rêve Atelier, of course). My shoes is another good deal from Diane Von Furstenberg. Got it at one of their GSS sale last year, which reminds me, they should have it this year too! *checking calendar*

Like it?!

[Food Post] Singapore: Poulét

Generally, I won't really be writing about chain restaurant. But Poulét has gone to my top 1 french restaurant with a pocket-friendly bill.

G loves this restaurant so much that whenever we think of eating western food, Poulét almost always in one of his list.

We almost always ordered the same stuffs whenever the two of us dine in. Our orders are generally consist of:

1 whole chicken Poulét Roti (chicken with creamy mushroom sauce)
1 mushroom soup
1 baguette

Sometimes we also ordered their salad or fries (because G has an undying passion for shoestring fries).

Most of the time, I could only finish 1/4 of  the chicken but in my defense, G only eat the thigh meat, leaving me the whole chicken breast. That's practically the whole chicken!

I really love to dip the baguette in the mushroom soup, which is why we always order them as a pair.

The reason why I like their chicken so much is simply because it is roasted but it is still so tender. Even the breast meat is tender. And the sauce is just on point. Like any chicken dish, the skin is the best bit. I usually leave them till the end. They absorb all the goodness from the cooking process.

Bliss...

[Food Post] Lung King Heen HK. 3-michelin star Chinese Restaurant

Do you know that Lung King Heen is the first chinese restaurant in the world ever awarded with the esteemed 3 michelin star?!

Lung King Heen is located at four season HK serves mainly yum cha in the morning and chinese course in the evening.

I had the opportunity last Christmas to dine in this restaurant while I was traveling to HK.

And my life has been forever changed...

Lung King Heen restaurant has a grand and majestic oriental decorations. The view from the restaurant to HK city is just an added plus point to an otherwise beautiful, modern and elegant restaurant. It combines the traditional chinese feeling with a fine dining ambience.

I made a reservation almost 2 months for fear that I couldn't get any spot here. We got a really nice seat but not by the window. I didn't really mind, honestly. I mostly just want to eat good food with my fiancé.

Like most modern yum cha restaurant, Lung King Heen doesn't have a cart roaming around the room for people to pick from. Instead, All the food is prepared and served hot according to your order.

G and I ordered several dishes from their dimsum menu and some from the ala carté section. We were first given their homemade condiments consisted of 3 types of sauce. (I did at some point expected a normal chili but this is supposedly the best dim sun restaurant in the world so I really shouldn't expect anything less than homemade sauces)

When the food came, I was really flabbergasted. It was so wonderfully prepared and presented, especially the xiao long bao and the lobster x scallop shiu mai. G had that OMG moment at the bite of their BBQ pork bun and I had mine at the scallop and minced chicken puff. These two are a must order! Like MUST

If you are in HK and would like to try out something different, do head down to Lung King Heen. You won't feel disappointed!

Is Sporty look the next big thing?

Recently, I have been so caught up with work. My clothing line, Rêve Atelier is launching so many new things that i have been unable to write things here. But that's almost done so I have some time to write about my latest ootd

One-sie: Zara
Shoes: Charles n Keith
Bag: Balenciaga
Bracelet: Hermes
Necklace: Juicy Couture

Bought my one-sie from Zara and love it to the core. It's a total steal at 49.90. Yay to GSS! The material is so cooling which is great for the HOT Singapore. And I just love the chic and sporty look of this dress.

The sandals? Oh that baby is from Charles & Keith. I have not bought stuffs from C&K for the longest time but this sandal won my heart so I decided to give it a try. It hurts. Haha but no pain no beauty hey?! Or does that defeat the purpose of comfy sporty look?! I'm so fickle minded

Till next post!

[Food Post] San Fransisco: Woodhouse Fish n Co

Prior to this trip, I had a massive craving for Lobster Roll. I still am actually or I probably just crave for it all the time. Lobster is one of my favorite seafood of all time. The other one is crayfish. I don't eat it all the time but if I had a chance, I always choose them over any other seafood.

So, thanks to Google and blogs and everything else in between, I managed to nail down the best Lobster roll in SF. It was the first thing we ate when we arrived. It wasn't too crowded. I guess it was the timing because as far as I know they are usually really crowded.

Ambience. Can I just say that I really love how simple and homey the place is? Look at their kitchen! with mainly pastel colours and fishings decors, the place managed to snatch my heart away. It is simple, possibly portray SF best.

Food. We ordered Lobster Roll, Drunken Crab, Crispy Squid (G's must order appetiser) and Crab sandwich. The bill turned out to be less than $100, which is pretty cheap considering a crab could easily cost $50-60/kg here in SG!

My favorite has got to be the Lobster Roll (duh!). It was creamy and the lobster is sweet and I forgot what happened I might just had a blackout from it. It was really good!

G and his fam like the drunken crab more but I hate getting my hands dirty from peeling crabs. Nothing personal, just the smell stays with you a long time and I got a tad OCD over it. :(

The squid, well as expected and can probably be very clearly seen, is really crunchy. Everything was just on point. It was fresh, very well fried and the batter was properly seasoned.

I must say I'm not the biggest fan of this crab sandwich. But it's totally personal, I think G's mom chose this over the lobster roll.

[Travel Post] Bintan: Angsana Resort [Picture Heavy]

In the spirit to keep my mental sane, I take a regular holiday. It doesn't matter what or where, as long as it involves the sun, I would be very satisfied. So when my friend asked me if I wanted to go with her for a vacay in Bintan, it was a sure yes. I have never been to Bintan, despite the fact that it is in close proximity with Singapore and it is in Indonesia, though it should just be called mini Singapore. The only one objective in our holiday is resting, doing nothing by the beach. Sounds like your favourite holiday? Yeah, me too.

Bintan Island x Angsana Resort

We did our resort bookings and ferry ride tickets in less than a day. It was truly impromptu but impromptu holidays are the best because right in the middle of the busy week, bam! you have something to look forward to.

We chose Angsana Resort mainly because it is a cheaper alternative to Banyan Tree Resort and they have a beautiful pool.

The resort face a beautiful beach, I could not believe my eyes when I saw it. I really thought, this can't be in Indonesia. If you have seen Bali beaches, double the clearness of the water and add some rocks by the shore and you get: Bintan Island.

The pool is massive and really pretty. I was very happy that on the first day we arrived, the weather was really good. It was neither hot nor cold and we could enjoy everything to the fullest. The next morning when we took morning dip, the rain was pouring and we couldn't stay in the water too long. *bummer*

Just a view from our room

We also managed to dine in at their restaurant. That weekend, they offer an Indonesian Satay BBQ for USD38++ per pax. They have quite a few selections of satay, from chicken to beef to squid. On top of satay, they also have some local dishes like rendang and sambal prawn. Other than the main dishes, they also have a wide selection of dessert which mainly consist of traditional kueh.

'Till i see the sun again

[Food Post] Seoul Han Chu Chicken

If you happen to google Best Korean Fried Chicken in Seoul, many bloggers, local and international alike would refer you to this restaurant. They are located near Apgujeong. We took a cab from our hotel because we were two clueless tourists who were desperate to find this chicken and G just hate walking under the sun. So to keep his mood up and happy, We cabbed there.

The first time we arrived, it wasn't too crowded so we were given a seat on their long bench. it was really comfortable because I had a lot of stuffs to carry.

We ordered their famous fried chicken and some twigim (basically it is something fried, this one is bell pepper with minced meat). G doesn't eat bell pepper so I actually finished the whole place myself, just saying.

The chicken arrived and the chicken has bits of chilies in the batter which isn't too hot for my standard but G didn't seem to be able to tolerate it. Most Korean food is spicy anyway so I was actually prepared.

The twigim was really good! I really could eat 2 plates if I weren't afraid of getting cough or anything associated with throat inflammation. They gave soy sauce so I was happily dipping my twigim while G wasn't too happy I ate salty and greasy stuffs this much. (He is somehow a lot more health conscious than i am)

Do try it if you happen to be in Seoul

[Food Post] Fat Cow

This is a bit of a late post because I have recently moved my whole blog here but I just wanted to write about this amazing place which I haven't had a chance to in my previous blog.

Fat cow is no longer new to any foodie in this part of Asia. My good friend from Indonesia always dine here whenever she is in Singapore.

I have only had dined twice at this place. First with my then boyfriend now fiance, G and the second time was with my family. I tried different sort of food on both occasions but I didn't manage to snap anything the second time round so all pictures come from my first visit.

We ordered several dishes:

Appetizer
Sea Bass Carpaccio with shaved truffle
Crab Cake
Onsen Egg with foie gras

My favorite amongst the appetiser has got to be the carpaccio. I was a little sceptical when they mentioned carpaccio as I had bad experience with seafood carpaccio and ever since, I almost never ordered it.

I'm glad I listened to my foodie instinct and ordered this for my family. It was seriously the best carpaccio I have eaten in my life and my family agreed.

Main
Wagyu Donburi
Sukiyaki
Udon

For the donburi and sukiyaki, Fat cow allows you to choose from a few different cow grades from Australia, US and Japan. The Japan Cow is the most expensive from memory. We ordered grade 3 from the Australian Beef which was still really good in my opinion. I was really thrown away by it. Really love it to the core.

I can't remember how much was each of the meal but our bill came out to around $250
