A touch of denim

It's not a secret that I really love skater skirt and crop top. In a country where there is a constant heatwave (IT'S REALLY HOT!), this is the most comfortable and cooling setup.

However, knowing that I would be spending most of my time today indoors, I decided to add outerwear to my entire outfit. I chose an old favourite piece, Puffy Denim Jacket. I decided to pair it with Gold jewelries to elevate the simplicity of my outfit today

Top from Rêve Atelier
Skirt from PACSUN
Denim Jacket from Forever New
Necklace from House of Harlow 1960
The rest of the jewelries from ASOS

[Fashion Post] Cami and Leather Short

If there is any color I always like, it is white. Plain, nice, go with everything. (I change favorite color all the time) The only problem is I'm a clumsy person and I spill everything, everywhere.

But I still decided to get this White Leather Short from Bershka in the hope that it will be easier to wash If i actually drop something on it. Hopefully not ink, never ink!

I paired my leather short with a beautiful camisole from TopShop. I have a love-hate relationship with camisole. It is almost always too big for me that my bra is usually visual but I love how it looks when it falls right where it should be. But I was in Bali and I was wearing bikinis so I was more confident to put on my camisole.

[Food Post] Very Berry

Recently, I'm having a new obsession for homemade smoothie. I can put anyhing I want, at the amount that I like.

Naturally, I did a lot of experiments to achieve the right smoothie composition. Here is my favorite mix:

3 bananas
6 strawberries
A handful of blueberries
1 scoop of mango sorbet
1 cup of mango juice
Ice

I have also mastered the art of 2 layers smoothie and the key is to add viscosity to the top layer, much like pudding so add honey and yoghurt for this purpose

Have a yum and healthy day!

[Travel Post] The Alcatraz, San Fransisco

I was in Cali earlier this year because my fiance's family wanted to go on a trip and wanted somewhere cold which brought us to the U.S.A. I have been to Cali twice before so this was my third time but it was the first time I set foot on San Fransisco. I was really excited for their clam chowder, really.

Our First "touristy" activity was to visit The Alcatraz. I have always always been intrigued by places, buildings and history. The Alcatraz was a place that has all that.  The Alcatraz is just 15minutes ferry ride away from SF's pier and the ferry timing was pretty frequent.

I haven't had much exposure to America's most famous prison of all time and I kind of mixed it up with Guantanamo Bay so I ended up thinking all the gruesome tortures happened there and that the island is haunted.

IT IS NOT! THANK GOODNESS

On the contrary, the only reason why this place is famous is because they used to imprison some of the most dangerous criminals in America, like Al Pacino. And why they were imprison there? It is simply because Alcatraz is hard to escape even if you can swim. It was also the reason why they closed the facility. It was really hard to maintain it with the seawater keeps corroding the cell bar and they have to do regular maintenance.

You could very much see all the cells and they would give you an earphone to guide you through the whole place. It was really fascinating. Some of the voices were real recording from back then. I spent a lot of times trying to learn how these prisoners used to live.

Other than the rich history, Alcatraz is actually located on a beautiful shore. You get a clear view of SF (supposedly some kind of mental torture to the prisoner back then to tell them what they have been missing and all but Idk how something so beautiful could be torturous). I took a great deal of photos from the place so enjoy. Hope it travels u to the past as it did to me.

[Fashion Post] Baby Blue Fetish

It appears that Blue could be my choice of colours at present. I have been attracted to blue, well, anything. And not just any blue, it's baby blue. Walking to Zara GSS didn't even help to ease my present baby blue fetish. With all the GSS sale and stuffs, I only find myself struggling to choose which item I should bag at the end of my shopping.

Top from Forever New
Leather Shorts from PacSun
Shoes, Blazer and Necklace from Zara
Bag from Kate Spade
Bracelet from Balenciaga

The Sandals that I'm wearing has been in my radar for the longest time. I found it once in Zara Jakarta but alas, there was something wrong with the hook and it wasn't just meant to be. So I put it aside and life moved on. That is until my recent visit to Zara at Liat Tower. I wasn't even purposely looking for shoes that day but when I saw this on the rack, I believe all my fingers were jumbled up from crossing too much, hoping that they have it in my size. It worked though, seriously.

[Fashion Post] Gravity Top and GSS Sale

Aren't we all grateful for GSS sale every mid year?! I certainly am. Usually, I would go to town early in the stage or towards the end of GSS because I had no time at all. But this year, somehow, I managed to get my ass there right in the middle of GSS where everything is still full in stock. It was really crowded everywhere.

I managed to snatch few pieces from Zara and have I mentioned that Melissa is on sale? The Karl Lagerfeld x Melissa is now 60% off! *GASP!*

I wore this yesterday to meet my girlfriend for some "short" shopping (which of course extended to a full 7 hours of shopping and eating). The top is from Zara, which I love love love so very muchie. Bought it in Zara Bali (who would have thought to buy anything from Zara Bali right?) and my leather leggings is something I have had for years and still my faveeee! It's from Sass n Bide and I got it at a real good deal during their warehouse sale. Talking about the perks of being in OZ. I really miss those warehouse sale, they always have the best stuffs especially SnB (which is my favourite brand, apart from Rêve Atelier, of course). My shoes is another good deal from Diane Von Furstenberg. Got it at one of their GSS sale last year, which reminds me, they should have it this year too! *checking calendar*

Like it?!

[Food Post] Singapore: Poulét

Generally, I won't really be writing about chain restaurant. But Poulét has gone to my top 1 french restaurant with a pocket-friendly bill.

G loves this restaurant so much that whenever we think of eating western food, Poulét almost always in one of his list.

We almost always ordered the same stuffs whenever the two of us dine in. Our orders are generally consist of:

1 whole chicken Poulét Roti (chicken with creamy mushroom sauce)
1 mushroom soup
1 baguette

Sometimes we also ordered their salad or fries (because G has an undying passion for shoestring fries).

Most of the time, I could only finish 1/4 of  the chicken but in my defense, G only eat the thigh meat, leaving me the whole chicken breast. That's practically the whole chicken!

I really love to dip the baguette in the mushroom soup, which is why we always order them as a pair.

The reason why I like their chicken so much is simply because it is roasted but it is still so tender. Even the breast meat is tender. And the sauce is just on point. Like any chicken dish, the skin is the best bit. I usually leave them till the end. They absorb all the goodness from the cooking process.

Bliss...

[Food Post] Lung King Heen HK. 3-michelin star Chinese Restaurant

Do you know that Lung King Heen is the first chinese restaurant in the world ever awarded with the esteemed 3 michelin star?!

Lung King Heen is located at four season HK serves mainly yum cha in the morning and chinese course in the evening.

I had the opportunity last Christmas to dine in this restaurant while I was traveling to HK.

And my life has been forever changed...

Lung King Heen restaurant has a grand and majestic oriental decorations. The view from the restaurant to HK city is just an added plus point to an otherwise beautiful, modern and elegant restaurant. It combines the traditional chinese feeling with a fine dining ambience.

I made a reservation almost 2 months for fear that I couldn't get any spot here. We got a really nice seat but not by the window. I didn't really mind, honestly. I mostly just want to eat good food with my fiancé.

Like most modern yum cha restaurant, Lung King Heen doesn't have a cart roaming around the room for people to pick from. Instead, All the food is prepared and served hot according to your order.

G and I ordered several dishes from their dimsum menu and some from the ala carté section. We were first given their homemade condiments consisted of 3 types of sauce. (I did at some point expected a normal chili but this is supposedly the best dim sun restaurant in the world so I really shouldn't expect anything less than homemade sauces)

When the food came, I was really flabbergasted. It was so wonderfully prepared and presented, especially the xiao long bao and the lobster x scallop shiu mai. G had that OMG moment at the bite of their BBQ pork bun and I had mine at the scallop and minced chicken puff. These two are a must order! Like MUST

If you are in HK and would like to try out something different, do head down to Lung King Heen. You won't feel disappointed!
